As I was drawing Historic Taipei, I made a few more regular sketches. But I wanted to create a different way of seeing the city, so I began to make these towers. They exist in an alternate Taiwan, but one which still holds the originality and detail I've seen in reality here. Some of the buildings in these are based on real locations in Taipei, or elsewhere in Taiwan. Others I invented, but I tried to keep the style of a particular era. Although one uses a lot of Pingtung buildings the other two are based heavily on Taipei architecture so I’ve included them in the Taipei section.

Thank you and I hope you enjoy exploring the city too!

I'm sad to see the building I put at the top of this tower has been recently demolished. This one was on Hengyang Road in Taipei. It wasn't the flashiest or finest building, but I liked its understated classicism. It seems Taiwan lost a lot of interesting places in the last year
